![]() ![]() ![]() Martina Högberg and Melinda Martino Photo by Sarah Clyne Sundberg Melinda Martino is currently employed as Director of Public Affairs and Communications at the new Consulate General of Sweden in New York. Previously, Melinda has worked as a communications consultant, writer, and translator for a wide array of clients including Rosetta Stone, a world-leading language-learning software company; Lune Group Oy, an international eco-friendly menstrual products company; and Fria Tidningen, an independent Swedish newspaper. Other employers include the former Consulate General of Sweden in New York, as well as the Media Council, the Swedish government's expert organization on children and young people’s media use. Moreover, she has experience from Media Channel, a New York-based organization dealing with media literacy and democracy issues, and the National Organization for Women, the largest feminist advocacy group in the U.S. Melinda earned a BA from the Cultural Studies Program at Stockholm University, Sweden. Martina Högberg is a Communications Officer at the Swedish Media Council in Stockholm, the Swedish Government's expert organization on children and young people's media use. Prior to this, she was employed by the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the United Nations in New York, working with press and PR related issues and as editor of the Mission's website. Between 2007-2009 she worked at the Consulate General of Sweden in New York as Information Officer, managing all events and activities connected to children and youth culture. Martina has worked with TV and film production and distribution at the Millennium Media Group, and as a production planner at the Swedish arts and entertainment magazine Nöjesguiden. She is a former film festival coordinator, programmer and board member of Ladyfest Sthlm, a Swedish non-profit organization promoting female artists. Martina has a BA from the Cultural Studies Program at Stockholm University in Sweden. |
